I'am the walrus :D

Hey guys!!!

This link is about one of my favourites songs by The Beatles (of course!).

I've heard that John had been inspired by the siren from a police car, isn't that fantastic?

If you listen carefully to the begining of the song you will realised that!!

Here I found some information that confirms what I've just said:

The genesis of the lyrics is found in three song ideas that Lennon was working on, the first of which was inspired by hearing a police siren at his home in Weybridge; Lennon wrote the lines "Mis-ter cit-y police-man" to the rhythm of the siren. The second idea was a short rhyme about Lennon sitting in his garden, while the third was a nonsense lyric about sitting on a corn flake. Unable to finish the ideas as three different songs, he combined them into one.

I wish you enjoy it!

Cande.

More about global warming ^^

Hi there! I don't want to seem annoying with this topic, but i've just seen a video about this matter which has lots of truths and funny things :P.
Check out the lyrics, it is very funny the way the person could mix it with the original song.
I will try to extract the lyrics by listening to it, but of course if you want to post the lyrics don't doubt! :)

here it is the video

The Pianist

Hi everyone! This is Tere posting again. Did you see the movie "The Pianist"? It's a bit shocking 'cause the plot is about the 2nd World War and in this part of the video that I'm putting here, a german or nazi soldier is listening to Mr. Szpilman (the pianist who is a polish jewish). I think the german was amazed during the piece of Chopin and he felt compassionate that's why he didn't killed Szpilman. By the way, a totally recomendable movie!

MISJUDGMENT

As we are in the topic of reality TV and talent shows, you can’t miss this incredible performance. Please, notice the use of vocabulary and the use of the word “cynical” by one of the judges. ENJOY!

Earth Pollution

I decided to post this kind of information because I really think that we have to be conscious about what we are destroying without realising, which is OUR PLANET.
I've found plenty of information about pollution so i've only posted one part of it.

A pollutant is any substance that, when in an environment, poisons our air, land and water. Chemicals have poisoned all of the world, harming humans, wildlife, and plant life, on land, sea and air. Approximately 100,000 synthetic chemicals are now on the market, with one thousand new chemicals are added yearly.

Although companies test the toxicity of their products individually, they do not exist alone in the environment. Compounds are altered in combination with others, but the effect of these combinations are not tested or studied. Pesticides, designed to kill insects, weeds and fungus, are also toxic to human nervous systems, and are linked to cancer and reproductive, developmental, neurological and immune-system damage. Every chemical we use, every substance we produce, in manufacturing, farming, energy use, or consumption, remains here on Earth. These poisons may seem to disappear—but they are only hidden.

The World Health Organization reports that 3 million people now die each year from the effects of air pollution. This is three times the 1 million who die each year in automobile accidents.

In the United States, traffic fatalities total just over 40,000 per year, while air pollution claims 70,000 lives annually. U.S. air pollution deaths are equal to deaths from breast cancer and prostate cancer combined.

Here it is the web page from where i found some information http://www.webofcreation.org/

Last year i decided to create a short video about these matters, so I uploaded it on youtube. Here it is the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=20TUY1yxGkg&feature=PlayList&p=8AA0C0FC6FCC1E50&index=5

The story of an hour

It was 6 o'clock in the morning.Everything seemed to be perfect by now. Until I reached room 601. It was a normal day, as always, the less I could Expect from a psychiatric hospital. The bright and white light, filling every corridor of the 4th floor, and that particular smell of medicine running through my veins. That's it,I was there, just in front of door 601 a world of different realities was waiting for me.
Once i got in, I knew I couldn't get out. He was there sitting patiently in his chair looking at nowhere, breathing without making any sound, he pointed at the other chair infront of him. He was inviting me to his new trip.I sat down in front of him and as always with both of his arms he grabbed my head. But there was something wrong this time, everything started to seem blured and a terrible headache invaded me.Suddenly the light was off. I was in a big house, full of stairs and windows.
The house was well decorated, a great fragance of flowers could be smelled. Suddenly an awful scream could be heard, a dreadful laughter filled the house with horror and a strange sense of fear. I ran up to the room where the body of a little girl was laying sorrounded by blood. But wait! who was the one standing at her side?yes,it was him...my patient.
I dind't know If i was dreaming or if it was reality but i started to scream and wanted to get out from that horrible house where a little girl had been murdered. I couldn't get to the front door, I fell down from the stairs, I broke my leg, it hurt too much for me to continue running, but then I saw him, walking towards me, he grabbed my fragile head again and everything started spinning.
Again that particular smell of medicine appeared, I was in hospital, that white light was illuminating the floor, my patient wasn't there, I was sleeping on the floor, wait! I was wearing that green coat that only patients have....I ran up to my bedroom door and saw through the other side of the glass my patient wearing my white coat...-How could it be possible?..It can't be-...
He was laughing at me, he only repeated the number 7 pointing at his watch.

The Story of a Second By: Tere

The Story of a Second

It was a sunny day in London. Weird, isn’t it?. She thought the same too. She didn’t know why, but she kept on walking down the street, slowly; she seemed to be expecting something and knew that was late for work, but it was the first time so she didn’t care about it at all. While walking she was glancing at everybody who was passing next to her. “-What am I looking for?”, she asked herself.
He was also looking for something and glancing at people. The street was crowded. He couldn’t walk fast but, actually he didn’t want to. He was enjoying everything: the pure air occupying his lumbs, the smell of the flowers, the little birds’ chirp. He stopped and glimpsed at the sun because it was too bright. He kept on walking and walking and at the same time asking himself: “-What am I looking for?”.
In the middle of the street both found what they were expecting. They didn’t glance this time but they gazed at each other like the most beautiful humans in the world. The street wasn’t crowded anymore. They were alone, looking at perfection.
They felt they had known each other for a long, long time ago but it was the first time they had met.
A smile was drawn in their faces. Their lives were going to change forever.
It was a sunny day in London. Weird, isn’t it?

The End.

Although it is quite old, this letter is a masterpiece of irony that an English actor wrote after Bush expressed other nonsensical reasons to attack Iraq. This is my first attempt at sharing some interesting material. Enjoy!

A letter to the Observer from Terry Jones
by Terry Jones • Tuesday March 18, 2003 at 04:14 PM

I'm really excited by George Bush's latest reason for bombing Iraq: he's running out of patience. And so am I! For some time now I've been really pissed off with Mr Johnson, who lives a couple of doors down the street.
Well, him and Mr Patel, who run the health food shop. They both give me queer looks, and I'm sure Mr Johnson is planning something nasty for me, but so far I haven't been able to discover what.
I've been round to his place a few times to see what he's up to, but he's got everything well hidden. That's how devious he is. As for Mr Patel, don't ask me how I know; I just know - from very good sources - that he is, in reality, a Mass Murderer. I have leafleted the street telling them that if we don't act first, he'll pick us off one by one.
Some of my neighbours say, if I've got proof, why don't I go to the police? But that's simply ridiculous. The police will say that they need evidence of a crime with which to charge my neighbours. They'll come up with endless red tape and quibbling about the rights and wrongs of a pre-emptive strike and all the while Mr Johnson will be finalising his plans to do terrible things to me, while Mr Patel will be secretly murdering people.
Since I'm the only one in the street with a decent range of automatic firearms, I reckon it's up to me to keep the peace. But until recently that's been a little difficult. Now, however, George W. Bush has made it clear that all I need to do is run out of patience, and then I can wade in and do whatever I want!
And let's face it; Mr Bush's carefully thought-out policy towards Iraq is the only way to bring about international peace and security. The one certain way to stop Muslim fundamentalist suicide bombers targeting the US or the UK is to bomb a few Muslim countries that have never threatened us.
That's why I want to blow up Mr Johnson's garage and kill his wife and children. Strike first! That'll teach him a lesson. Then he'll leave us in peace and stop peering at me in that totally unacceptable way. Mr Bush makes it clear that all he needs to know before bombing Iraq is that Saddam is a really nasty man and that he has weapons of mass destruction - even if no one can find them. I'm certain I've just as much justification for killing Mr Johnson's wife and children as Mr Bush has for bombing Iraq.
Mr Bush's long-term aim is to make the world a safer place by eliminating 'rogue states' and 'terrorism'.
It's such a clever long-term aim because how can you ever know when you've achieved it?
How will Mr Bush know when he's wiped out all terrorists? When every single terrorist is dead? But then a terrorist is only a terrorist once he's committed an act of terror. What about would-be terrorists? These are the ones you really want to eliminate, since most of the known terrorists, being suicide bombers, have already eliminated themselves. Perhaps Mr Bush needs to wipe out everyone who could possibly be a future terrorist? Maybe he can't be sure he's achieved his objective until every Muslim fundamentalist is dead? But then some moderate Muslims might convert to fundamentalism. Maybe the only really safe thing to do would be for Mr Bush to eliminate all Muslims?
It's the same in my street. Mr Johnson and Mr Patel are just the tip of the iceberg. There are dozens of other people in the street who I don't like and who - quite frankly - look at me in odd ways. No one will be really safe until I've wiped them all out. My wife says I might be going too far but I tell her I'm simply using the same logic as the President of the United States. That shuts her up.
Like Mr Bush, I've run out of patience, and if that's a good enough reason for the President, it's good enough for me. I'm going to give the whole street two weeks - no, 10 days - to come out in the open and hand over all aliens and interplanetary hijackers, galactic outlaws and interstellar terrorist masterminds, and if they don't hand them over nicely and say 'Thank you', I'm going to bomb the entire street to kingdom come. It's just as sane as what George W. Bush is proposing - and, in contrast to what he's intending, my policy will destroy only one street.
